Batesville High School, part of the Batesville Community School District,[2] is a public high school in Batesville, Indiana with an enrollment of about 700.[2][3]

Athletics

Batesville High School is a member of the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference.[4]

The most popular sport at BHS is basketball and the program has had moderate success.The basketball team has produced players like Colt Ryan,Michael Menser and Curt Clawson.The current basketball coach is Aaron Garrett. The basketball team has won regionals in 2007,2008and 2011. In 2001, the team lost in the 2A state championship game to Fort Wayne. The football program has also experienced recent success, winning 6 consecutive sectional titles from 2002 to 2007 with the help of first team all-state linebacker Jonathan Lambert. Also, in 1986, the football team won a regional title to advance to the semistate. The current football coach is high school math teacher Eric Heppner. The golf team went to state in 2008. Ellie Tidman won state in women's high jump in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010; this makes her just the third woman to 4-pete at state and the first to do it in high jump.
